I am dedicated to quality vocal music performance.  I have over forty years of experience in gospel piano playing, singing. and directing experience.  I can transcribe and write sheet music arrangements from recordings or from hearing music performed live. I have taught vocal music on the K-12 level and on the college level.  I have played for some of biggest churches in the Chicagoland area.

I started taking piano lessons in 1956 and continued without interruption throughout my 6 years of undergrad music studies at Indiana University.  I received my Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Music and Education from Indiana University in 1974 and 1980 respectively.  I graduated with honors from the United States Army School of Music and was stationed with the Army Band of New York in Brooklyn, New York from which I received my honorable discharge in 1983.

I believe everyone has some level of musical talent.  I can develop what you have. Ear training and voice development are my specialities.  I am very good at what I do.

Company history

I moved to Michigan recently after spending a lifetime in Indiana.  I am enjoying working with a local children's city choir and providing music ministry to a church in the area.  My keyboard playing has been heard on several recordings, and I have performed with the late Reverend James Cleveland, Jessie Dixon, Dare to Be Different (Youth Choir), Kinsey Report, the late Sonny Stitt and "Red" Holloway.

I studied Jazz with Dr. David N. Baker, Hal Galper, and Ronnie Matthews.  Big names really don't impress me but I am dropping a few names here to let you know that I have been in fast well known company in the music business.

Customer testimonials

I moved away from Indiana where I have former students who are making a living playing music for churches.  Contact SS Monica and Luke, in Gary, Indiana and talk to Father Pat Gaza, he can tell you about Ryan Wilkerson who plays for the Roman Catholic Diocese.  Ryan was one of my students who has been successful in music.

Michael Cox is another musician who freelances in the Chicagoland area.  He was one of my students.  I taught literally thousands of school children with the public schools from 1985 to 2000 who can tell you about what kinds of school choirs I had.  My reputation has always been very good and dependable.

Finally I had a few students at Albion College and helped them improve their piano playing styles and gospel singing.
